Fishing Vessel Sandy B II

SANDY B FISHING CHARTERS

Sailing from our docks located in beautiful Gloucester, Massachusetts, the Sandy B is large, solid and safe. You can relax in her large extended wheelhouse, or lay on the roof and catch some rays while steaming to your destination. In addition to an exciting fishing experience, we take pride in providing our clients with a comfortable and relaxing trip.

Details:

The F\V Sandy B II was custom built in the year 2000 to Capt. Bluefin's specifications. She is powered by a 635 HP Cummins all electronic diesel and ZF twin speed transmission. Throttle and shifting are by Mathers "fly by wire" controls -  no cables to freeze up. Her fuel capacity is more than 750 gallons. She is 42 feet long and 18 feet wide. Her large beam gives her kindly sea keeping manners.  Her cockpit measures 18 feet by 17 feet. We have a steering station in the cockpit for running the vessel while "hooked up" with a bluefin tuna.

We feel it is important to have as much open deck space for our clients available as possible. Below deck she has two 250 gallon aerated live bait wells, and two insulated fish holds. The bait wells and fish holds do not take up any deck space. We also have a 10 KW Onan genset below decks for providing 110 power.

The Sandy B has a super tall, heavily built tower with a canopy for sun protection. The floor of the tower is 22 feet off the deck. Height off the water is extremely important when sight fishing for giant tuna and striped bass. Her outriggers and center rigger are tower mounted. If you want to find the vessel - look for our tower and outriggers and you won't miss us. The tower has a comfortable seat and a steering station.

Our heated 18 foot by 18 foot extended wheelhouse has more seating capacity than a party of six could ever desire. In the wheelhouse are the following: dining table, refrigerator, sink with running hot and cold water, full size gas oven with stove top burners, a microwave and a toaster oven. We like food! There are many available 110 volt outlets as well. The dashboard - steering station area is packed from one end to the other with sophisticated marine electronics as well as home electronics (TV, VCR, AM-FM Stereo). We get great reception on the water. When taking those extended over night excursions it is nice to have all the comforts of home.

Forward of the wheelhouse is the forecastle. In the forecastle there is an enclosed head with a shower and two upper and lower v-berths (separate bunks for four full size adults). We also have additional sleeping areas in the wheelhouse if necessary.
